The Color of the Summer - Yellow

Yellow and is such a fun and appropriate color for summer! I have never really been drawn to the color yellow when out shopping and it's usually not the first thing I am looking for, but since this is a pretty popular trend this summer I wanted to give it a try and turns out...... I love it! When I came across this yellow summer dress , I literally probably circled the store back to it about 3 times before I knew it had to come home. I love the high neckline and the print.....well lets just say this dress makes me want to go salsa dancing :)

Since it does have such a bold print, I wanted to keep the dress as the main focus so I paired it with my current favorite studded sandals, a simple crescent necklace, and a crossbody bag to accent the colors. Shop this look above or shop some of my other current favorite yellow pieces below.

Red Peplum Tank Target | White Shorts Express | Neckerchief (similar) Forever 21 | Statement Necklace [c/o] BaubleBar | Cross-body Bag [c/o] Charming Charlie | Studded Sandals Target

Who else is ready for some grilling out, laying by the pool, and having a fun filled festive day with friends?! One of the reasons I love this holiday so much is because of how it brings us all together. Since the 4th is in the middle of the week this year, our festivities will probably be a little more relaxed than usual (not complaining about that, girlfriend needs a break), but bet your bottom that I will be decked out in my red, white, and blue even if I am just sitting on the couch eating a hot-dog.

Since this holiday is a little more laid back, I like to find affordable options to wear that you feel comfortable lounging in. This red peplum tank is so soft and is perfect paired with a pair of white cutoffs and some fun patriotic accessories. Stay trendy by adding a red, white, and blue neckerchief or to dress things up, add a statement necklace like this one from Baublebar. This fun cross body bag from Charming Charlie is perfect if you are heading out to watch fireworks to keep your phone and necessities in.

Do y'all have any big plans for the 4th? TJ and I are on the hunt for something fun to do in Houston so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear!

What to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Dress [c/o] Just Fashion Now | Heels | Bag (similar) | Earrings | Watch

So what do you wear when you have to dress up for a special event but what to be comfortable and stay cool? Summer weddings always seem so tricky to me because you have to dress up and look nice, but are inevitably going to sweat off all of your makeup and be ready to rip off your fancy dress by the end of the night. One good thing about summer weddings is that they are usually pretty casual, so wearing your favorite summer dress and dressing it up with some heels and jewelry can be totally acceptable. This off the shoulder fuchsia dress is perfect for a hot and steamy summer wedding. Of course the off the shoulder neckline will keep you on the cooler side and will also show off that golden tan you are rocking, but the color is such a fun pop for summer. The fabric has a nice sheen to it that makes it a little dressier than cotton. Really make that dress pop by adding a neutral heel like this one and have fun with your accessories like I did with these fun tassel earrings. This dress is such a steal for only $31 and you can shop all of the pieces from this look at the links above!
