I want to start this by apologizing for how long this post is.
A few days ago, TJ and I were riding in the car talking about how some people are so open about their lives on social media, giving all of their followers a play by play of their days or what is on their mind. Me.....I'm the complete opposite. I'm not one to let everyone know that TJ and I are having an amazing home cooked steak and watching a great new show on Netflix. I'd rather just keep my personal life separate and anyway.......who really wants to know about all of that stuff??
Well having this blog, I have realized that maybe I should open up a little more. Give my readers a closer look into my life and how it may not be just about fancy new clothes, a stunning new pair of heels, or a sparkly necklace. A lot of people can get a misconception about bloggers. They think that they just get free stuff, snap pictures all day, and jot a few words down on whatever comes to mind. Well if that's what you believe then honey, you are wrong. Staying up to date with current trends, creating pitches for brands and spending what feels like forever searching for the right contact person, late nights or early mornings writing content and then making sure you proofread it all (because we all know there are some grammar police out there), getting all done up at 6 am on Saturday mornings so you can go take 5 outfit photos before the streets get busy......these are just a few of the things that go into it but I'm here to tell you, it's HARD WORK.
While I'm not the only one, on top of all of the work that goes into maintaining Calo's Closet I also have a full time job. A Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm job that can sometimes run later especially when we are in busy season like now. So lets just say, I am stretched thin. Like this week, sometimes I fall behind. It's only Wednesday and I feel like I have been hit by a bus. So as my goal is to be more consistent in 2017, I also want to be more real with you guys and let you know things happening in my life. We would all love to be super woman (or super man) and just do it all but sometimes we just can't. As I wrap up this way too long post, I just want to say that this is the year that I am going to be real. I may not get an Instagram post up everyday at 6 pm or have a new blog post on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.....but I am going to keep you all filled in on what's going on because sometimes life just gets cray!
So onto the more important topic, 5 things you need in your closet for winter! I always feel like winter is the month of staples because I like to stick to the same pieces when it's chilly out. So here are the items I stick to for the winter.
1. Sweaters....I mean what else do you need?!
2. A good ole' pair of blue jeans
3. A pair of "wear with anything" booties
4. A bad hair day beanie....life saver!
5. A neutral layering jacket
