There are a few pieces in my closet that I am always drawn to either because 1) they are comfortable or 2) they go with everything. I call these pieces my closet basics. I think these are the items that we all need to have in our closet because lets face it, if we can't wear our pajamas out in public then I for sure want to be in something that is just as comfortable and is never a fail. So here is a list of my top 5 basics that you NEED in your closet ASAP!

1. My #1 will always be a good pair of blue jeans

A good pair of blue jeans are a pair that you don't mind wearing around  the house instead of sweats because they are that dang comfy. Now, these don't have to be super expensive (I have found pairs that have been under $100 and are still just as comfortable), but I do think the more you invest in a good pair of jeans the better quality they will be and the longer they will last you. Here are some of my favorites:

2. Basic Tee's

I LOVE a good v-neck tee and I have to admit, sometimes I do wear these to bed so they pretty much are wearing your pajamas out in public, whatevs it's appropriate! Having an array of colors and different neck lines is always good for those days when you feel like you have nothing to wear but don't want to bum it around town. One of my favorite laid back looks is a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, an over-sized tee, and some nude pumps. It's the "I just threw this on but look like someone important" kind of look.

3. Cardigans

I am always playing the hot/cold game when I am out and about, so cardigans are a life saver. They are probably my favorite layering tool and if you have one that is a neutral color, it will be worn on repeat.

4. Slip on Sneakers

Nothing makes me happier than a pair of comfortable shoes that I can slip on and off without any hassle. I love how slip on sneakers are a step up from regular lace up sneakers so they make you look a little more polished.

5. A Go With Everything Cross-body Bag

We should all have that one bag that we don't even have to think about, we can just grab it and go and know that it will go with anything we are wearing. I'm super picky when it comes to my go to cross-body bag because I want it to be the right color, size, and still be functional for any occasion.
