Morning Routine

Mornings can be rough, especially weekday mornings, so I wanted to share with you guys my week day morning routine that makes life a little less hectic and gets you out of the door on time!

I recently made a decision that I HAVE to start waking up earlier in order to get things done in the morning. Life can get hectic and a lot of the time I feel stretched thin, so I came up with a morning routine that made life a little easier for me and hopefully will help you guys out too! Now this might sound insane but I started waking up at 5:15 a.m., it wasn't something I was thrilled about doing (i'm not a morning person, ask my parents or TJ, I'm a grumposaurus in the mornings) but I knew it had to happen. This gives me plenty of time to actually wake up, drink my morning tea/coffee, answer emails, blog, and get ready for work all while not running around crazy rushing to get things done.

So here it goes, I'm sharing my routine with you guys:

Step 1- Wake up, make my coffee/tea, check Instagram, answer emails, and blog.

Step 2- Shower, wash face, fix hair ( I will do a hair tutorial soon).

My everyday face wash is CeraVe which you can get here. A few years back I was having some bad breakouts so I went to my dermatologist and she said I should try out this face wash and haven't looked back ever since! This is such a gentle face wash that cleans off your makeup and everyday impurities, while not stripping your skin of its natural oils.

On days that I am feeling like my skin is looking a little dull, I use this Walnut Complexion Scrub by Ole Henriksen which you can buy here. This scrub is AMAZING! I like to use it in the shower cause it is super giddy and the water helps lather it up. This scrub helps wash away and smooth out impurities while giving you an even complexion. It leaves your face feeling like a babies bottom and makes your makeup go on so smoothly. I would suggest using this sparingly because it is a scrub and you do not want to irritate your skin.

After washing my face, I then apply my absolute favorite moisturizer Water Fuse Water-Sure Gel by Dr. Jart + which you can get here. This moisturizer is oil free and keeps your skin moist and plump all day long! I have noticed such a difference in my skin after using this moisturizer everyday!

Next I apply my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Moonstone which you can get here. I use a makeup sponge to apply this because I feel it goes on a lot more smoothly. I mainly put it on my cheek bones, center of my forehead, and on the bridge of my nose. This liquid highlighter gives your skin a natural glow!

Now it is time for foundation. My everyday foundation is Clinique Stay- Matte Oil Free Foundation. Clinique makeup is so lightweight and great if you have sensitive skin like me. You can buy this foundation here. I use shade 02 Alabaster and also apply this with my makeup sponge.

After applying foundation I will then apply my concealer. I have been using Studio Finish SPF 35 concealer for years now and I love it! It covers so well and looks very natural. I use shade NW20 and you can buy it here. I use a small concealer brush to apply this on just the spots that I don't want people to see.

It's time to set your makeup. I use Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in shade 01 Stay Buff and you can buy it here. I use a big powder brush to apply my powder all over my face.

Next we contour. I have been using the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in shade Tawny Brown and it has been my go to, you can buy it here. This bronzer looks very natural and gives you a healthy glow. For my quick days I just apply it on my cheek bones and blend, blend, blend.

Time for my favorite part, HIGHLIGHTING! I use the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed by Becca in the shade Moonstone and you can get it here. This shimmering powder will change your life, trust me! It gives you such a beautiful and natural glow! If you get anything I would highly suggest buying this your next trip into Sephora! I apply it on my cheekbones, tip of my chin, on my upper lip, and bridge of nose, all the places the light will hit your face.

Eyebrows are such a game changer. A lot of people still don't do this but I think it enhances your whole look. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil in the shade warm golden brown and you can get it here. Lightly do strokes throughout your eyebrow filling them in.

For an everyday makeup look, I do a light colored shadow on my entire eyelid to make it look more natural. I found this eyeshadow palette by Maybelline at Target and it has every neutral color you could possibly need! You can buy it here

Add some mascara to make your eyes POP! I use the BareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara in Intense Black which you can get here

To top everything off you just need some lipstick! I use the BobbiBrown Creamy Lip Color in Shade 5 Blue Raspberry and you can get it here. This is the perfect everyday color and this lipstick is so creamy it makes your lips feel plump and moisturized all day!

I hope this helps you guys and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment here or send me an email!
